Homeland Hospice
Making the Most of Every Moment
Hospice is a philosophy of care appropriate when a medical cure is no longer possible or a decision to stop aggressive treatment has been made. Homeland Hospice helps patients live as fully and comfortably as possible by providing symptom and pain relief; care services and therapies; spiritual support; and on-call support. We address patient and family needs with the utmost compassion, and will help you make the most of every precious moment together.
Who can receive hospice and where?
You can request a hospice evaluation when a family member is diagnosed with a life-limiting illness. We will meet with the patient, family and the patient’s physician to discuss all available options and develop a plan of care centered on the patient’s wishes. Patients can receive hospice care anywhere they call “home” – in their residence, a personal care community or a skilled nursing facility.
Is hospice covered by Medicare?
Hospice care is normally covered by Medicare when certified by a physician. Private pay and Medicaid coverage for qualified individuals also are accepted.
Relief program for family caregivers
Homeland Hospice is the only hospice agency in Central Pennsylvania that offers an in-home relief program to all patient families. In-home relief enables family members and other caregivers to attend to their own needs – because caregivers need care too.
